A Typical day at Clubhouse Child Care is fairly structured to keep the children entertained and active. Even though we have a daily schedule that we try to follow, we are flexible enough to allow the children to really enjoy the day.

Here is our tentative schedule…

6:30-8:00am Arrival and Quiet play or TV time

~Good morning friends. We keep it quiet for any little ones who are still tired and not quite ready to start the day.

8:00-8:30 Breakfast

~Breakfast consists of a type of bread/cereal, fruit, and milk

8:30-10:00 Free Play

~ A wide variety of toys are available to play with. The Sensory buckets, games, or misc. art supplies are placed on the table to be used as wanted.

10:00-11:00 Outside or Large Muscle Play

~If we are unable to play outside due to weather, then we have fun on our indoor loft/slide, play on the hippity hops, make an obstacle course, dance to music or turn on a fun kids exercise/dance video.

11:00-11:30 Table Time

~Planned art or hands on projects; could be as open ended as paper and crayons/paints, or as complex as making a specific project. Could also be worksheets to practice letter writing, numbers, shapes, etc. or a math or science project.

11:30-11:45 Singing, Counting, Colors

~This is the time of day when I am finishing getting lunch on the table. The children and I sing lots of songs, practice counting, work on shapes and colors, and just stay busy with our hands and words until lunch is ready.

11:45-12:30 Lunch

~Consists of meat, bread/pasta, fruit, vegetable and milk

12:30-12:45 Reading/Circle Time

~Movement activity to wind down. We then discuss topics like weather, participate in finger plays and flannel boards, and then the children each pick out one book for me to read to them.

12:45-1:00 Get ready for naps

~Bathroom break and get mats, blankets and pillows ready.

1:00-3:30 Rest Time

~The children each have their own areas to rest. The older preschoolers and school aged children watch a movie for the first part of this nap time.

3:30-3:45 Snack

~Consists of 2 items… Examples are; toast and peanut butter (with water), cereal and juice, cheese and crackers (with water), cookies and milk, granola bar and yogurt (with water), etc.

3:45-Close Outside or Table activities

~We either spend time outside playing on the blacktop with chalk, bikes, etc. or we play with buckets of toys or games at the table.

There are days that we enjoy taking field trips. Some of the places that we like to visit are… Public Library, Parks, Pip Squeaks, McDonalds Playland, Lunch outing for pizza, tacos, etc. And most of all in the summer, we like to visit the local pool.
